AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL

This intraocular lens implant is designed to accommodate a complete vision solution. The AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL allows the individual to quickly adjust their focus from objects that are near, far and every distance in between.
By using apodized diffractive and refractive technology, combined with the addition of proven aspheric technology, the AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL now offers patients enhanced image quality and clarity.

Apodized Diffractive Technology

Diffraction is a modification or spreading that light undergoes during the act of passing through a lens. The AcrySpof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL, lens surface has a number of rings in the center of the lens, these rings are the apodized diffrative optic. Apodization is a gradual narrowing of diffractive levels, creating a near-seamless diffusion of light between near, far and intermediate visual focal points. The AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL uses these tiny rings in the center of the lens to focus light in various ways, thus allowing the individual to focus on objects at all three distance (near, far and intermediate).

Refractive Technology

Refraction is a deflection or redirection of light as it passes through a lens. To put the AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL's ring design in simple terms, it is the outer most ring on the lens which is designed for viewing objects at a distance. This outer ting on the lens deflects or redirects the light as it passes through, allowing it to precisely focus on the retina, providing a clear distance image.

Aspheric Technology

All eyes have some moderate imperfections in them. These imperfections are called Spherical aberrations and are common in individuals who suffer from cataracts. The aspheric technology applied to the AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL corrects spherical aberrations in the lens of the eye, allowing for clearer vision.
